The Pathway to Healing
Walk the Pathway, Remember the Cross
A place to pause
Every step is toward healing
We’re excited to share what is coming to our peaceful 45-acre property. A brick walkway and new landscaping will join the office, the main house, the playground, and the dock, so every part of the property is one easy walk to the next.
You will notice that the walkway in front of the lake house is in the shape of a cross. We firmly believe that the best path to healing for any person is the cross, and we want every pastor, missionary, and ministry leader who walks here to remember that Jesus loved them enough to die for them.
It is easy for ministry leaders to proclaim the hope of the cross to others while forgetting its healing power for their own hearts. Whether our guests are resting in the house, meeting in counseling, or praying by the water, they are on the Pathway to Healing. The Lord is the One who heals, and we are honored to give weary servants a beautiful place to meet Him.
Those who spend their lives pointing others to the hope of Christ need a place to be reminded of that same hope for themselves.
In front of the lake house, the walkway will form a cross. Many of the pastors, missionaries, and ministry leaders who come to Selah have spent their lives proclaiming the hope of the cross to others. We want every step they take here to remind them of that same hope—to remember that Jesus loves them, cares for them, and gave Himself for them. During some of their greatest struggles in life and ministry, we want them to remember that the cross is the true pathway to healing. The ability to do ministry comes from the privilege of accepting and sharing the power of the cross. Whether they are receiving biblical counseling, resting with their families, or spending quiet time by the water, we pray this pathway will point them back to Christ, the true source of healing and renewal.

How a brick works
Honor or remember someone
$125gives one engraved brick
- In honor of or in memory of someone or something.
- Each additional $125 gives another brick, with the same words or its own.
- A larger gift never requires more than one brick.
- Three lines, twenty characters per line.
- After you order, you can print an image of your brick to keep or to give.
Who has walked beside you? Your first pastor. The person who led you to Christ. A ministry leader who discipled you. A youth pastor who walked with you through your teenage years. A parent who taught you to love the Lord, or someone you miss at the table this Christmas.

Why we give
Giving is obedience, and hope does not depend on circumstances
Jonathan Chapman, a Selah partner, shares why he and his wife trust Selah to keep ministry workers in the work.
What Selah gave our family
We left that first meeting feeling hope
In April 2025, Josh Sullivan, a church-planting missionary in South Africa, was taken from his own church and held six days before he was rescued. Within days, his family sat down with Selah.
Thank you for your prayers and support. Please pray for every pastor, missionary, and ministry leader who will come to Selah.

A letter
A word from our founders
Chris & Dawn Phillips
Selah Founders
Dear Friends,
Perhaps you yourself or someone you know has experienced burnout. We personally know what that feels like. After more than 30 years in full-time ministry, including 23 years as missionaries to the Hispanic community in Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Charleston, SC, we found ourselves emotionally, physically, and spiritually depleted. With Dawn facing a severe medical diagnosis and years of ignoring burnout, we were trying to keep going on empty.
In our darkest season while serving in missions, God used faithful biblical counselors to speak His Truth into our lives, lovingly guiding us back to the rest found only in the cross of Christ. That life-changing care restored our marriage, our family, and our call to ministry, and eventually led us to found Selah International.
This is why our most recent project is meaningful for those in ministry.
We are eager to build this physical pathway as a reminder of the cross of Christ; ensuring that every ministry leader who steps foot on Selah’s property is met with a profound truth: the cross is not just an historical event, but the very place where Jesus meets us in our affliction to speak life, give rest, and pour out His enduring grace.
We will be purchasing several bricks to honor the legacy of those whom God has used as instruments of His grace in our lives and family. As you look back on your own journey, who were those who God used to speak grace and truth into your soul when you needed it most?
“But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.” — 1 Peter 5:10
With gratitude,
Chris & Dawn Phillips
