(www.onlineschoolbc.com) - What is Lowcountry Biblical Counseling Center (LCBCC)? LCBCC is an ACBC certified training center. All their training courses and materials are approved and certified by the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), the largest national certifying organization for biblical counseling.

(Please note: Selah will pay the course fee which includes the downloadable course syllabus, but you will be responsible for purchasing books for required reading as well as the professionally printed and bound student outline/syllabus for $35 plus s/h should you desire this rather than the free downloadable version of the course syllabus that you must print.)
COURSE DESCRIPTION: "Change that Sticks" is the essential core curriculum helping hundreds learn to counsel and overcome basic personal problems. 5 courses in 1: fundamental doctrines of change, methodologies in counseling, transforming emotions, and family counseling. (This is Step 1 in the ACBC certification process.)
44 Track I Syllabus & Course Requirements - FUNDAMENTAL COURSE IN BIBLICAL COUNSELING(“Change That Sticks")
A. 45 Videos with Weekly and Monthly Online Class Discussions (to be completed within a 9 to 12 month time frame. LCBCC offers an extension for a monthly subscription rate if you are unable to complete within the 12 month time frame. SELAH SEED funds will only cover the 12 month course, not extensions. You are accountable for finishing the course as part of the scholarship agreement. If the class is not completed within the course of one year, you are responsible for refunding Selah the cost of the class so that another ministry leader might take advantage of the scholarship funds.) - Class enrollment is perpetual, so enroll at any time.

Module Two: Transformed Emotions: Clearing the Guilty Conscience; Learning to Forgive; Anger: Its Causes & Cures; Depression: Avoiding Despair in Difficult Times; Overcoming Fear, Worry & Anxiety
Module Three: Ten Marks of the Faithful Counselor: (Methods of Counseling) Integrity, Building the Relationship, Collecting Needed Information, Inspiring Biblical Hope, Saturating Counseling with Prayer, Exposing Root Problems, Discovering God's Solutions, Developing a Plan of Change, Calling for Commitment, Connecting Change to the Church
Module Four: Marriage & Family Counseling: God's Purpose for Marriage, Husband and Wife Roles, Biblical Communication, Sexuality in Marriage, Goals in Parenting, Gentle Correction and Consistent Consequences in Child Training
Module Five: Advanced Issues: Troubling Emotions and Chemical Imbalances, Helping the Sexually Tempted, Gaining a Transforming Vision of the Gospel, Choosing Truth over Theories in Counseling

We realize that you may need to build your counseling library little by little so we have compiled a list of our favorites.

Change That Sticks can be used to meet all the requirements for Phase One in A.C.B.C. certification.
IF YOU ARE WANTING AN ALL-IN-ONE EQUIPPING or CERTIFICATION EXPERIENCE:
Phase 1: Students complete the Change That Sticks course which provides a thorough 45 video course with readings, assignments and even an additional 10 counseling observations in Biblical counseling and change (certified by ACBC).
Phase 2: Students then take the ACBC Exam Prep Course - Essentials of Biblical Counseling (ACBC Exam Mentorship)- www.onlineschoolbc.com (LCBCC) to receive help on any of the 44 exam questions in which guidance is needed. (You will need to contact: info@selahinternational.org and reapply for scholarship funds to cover the cost of this second course in the certification experience. Funds will be given for Phase 2 based on your completion of “Change that Sticks” within the 12-month time frame.)
Phase 3: Once your exams are approved by ACBC, you may begin the counseling supervision process with an ACBC fellow. (SICM will cover the ACBC fellow fee for his services.)
Upon completion of all three steps, you are certified!
